ReplyDeleteKristina,
ReplyDeleteThe way your question is worded I'm not understanding what kind of relationship you're interested in researching.
Jessica,
ReplyDeleteI think your question is a good one. You might also consider asking what kinds of research or studies deal with this question.
Kristina,
ReplyDeleteYour question is directed at us, your readers, how might you rephrase it to be a research question?
On what basis do detractors argue that children raised by lesbian couples will be at some sort of disadvantage in comparison with children raised by heterosexual couples? What are the problems with this position?
Gerald,
ReplyDeleteYou might want to broaden your question a little bit: What identity do teenagers choose when they put on certain kinds of clothes? What statements do fashion choices make about the person wearing them? Should parents restrict what their teenagers choose to wear?
Felishia,
ReplyDeleteI think these are good research questions:
Are our children more mentally advanced today than 20 years ago.
5. Are children more emotionally advanced today than they were 20 yrs ago.
The question concerning environment and physical development is also a good one.
Tyler,
ReplyDeleteYou might consider also a more specific research direction, such as looking into the accessibility and influence of particular large-scale programs, such as MATS, Michigan Academic Talent Search.
Shawn,
ReplyDeleteI don't think we can "make" children do anything. Perhaps you might investigate why our country doesn't place a higher value on education, a search which might lead you to look at the value other countries place on providing quality education for their children.
Ron,
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking for your research project you might want to move away from this topic.
Are there any subjects you could research? You should try to make your research an activity that is truly useful to you in some way.
If I had the chance to research something for a class, for example, I would spend some time reading about the challenges adolescent girls face, since I have a teenage daughter. This kind of research would directly benefit me in my home life.
Mike,
ReplyDeleteI like your questions. I'm not sure, though, about the word "should" in your first question.
You might want to look for reviews of Robert Bly's books. This would be a related subject. You might also want to look at Sam Keen's book, or reviews of the book, called Fire in the Belly. Both these books are about the changing roles of men in our society.
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteThis might be your best question:
Is it harder for children of different ehtnicities to bond parents of other ethnicities
Ashlie,
ReplyDeleteYour questions are well thought out and focused. It's clear you considered lots of possible question before you arrived at this, very well phrased, one.
what forms & types animation are there & what ones are more used today?
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteYour questions are good, especially the first one.
Alicia,
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could focus also on the software programs that allow beginners to do animation on their home computers.
revise?Employer support for working mothers?
ReplyDeleteessay #3 question; How many stores in genesee county have closed or moved to another location since the recession started?
ReplyDeleteDon,
ReplyDeleteThis is a good opening question. I wonder, though, how you can research this in the online resources of the library. It seems you would have to go to the County records offices.
Perhaps your question might be phrased in terms of the recession's effects on business in Genesee County--and on the effects on Genesee County of so many businesses closing.
What is the difference between left brained people and right brained people? Do they learn differently? How does this effect their life?

ReplyDeleteI think the question I will use is, "What is the role of fathers in raising children in our society today?"
ReplyDeleteFrom your instructor:
ReplyDeleteAdam, Scipio, Mike, Donnesha, Shannon, papa123 and Mariana,
Your questions are good ones. Well thought out.
This is a demonstration. Disregard it.
ReplyDeleteFor my puzzling question I wanted to know who are some famous people whos parents struggled with a drug addiction and how it affected them
ReplyDeletehow many people actually recycle in the genesee area?
ReplyDeleteif they made it mandatory to recyle how would they go about making people do it?
how far can people go as far as recyling?
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteYou might look under drug addiction in Thomson-Gale, and then on the upper right-hand side, where it says "Document" or "Types of Document" look for personal narratives.
I believe you might find information for the daughters of the actress Joan Crawford. One of them wrote a book called "Mommy Dearest."
Also, the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddy Fisher. She was a star in the movie "Star Wars."
I believe the addictions there were to alcohol.
Liza Minelli, Judy Garland's daughter, might have written about her childhood and her mother, who was addicted to alcohol and a number of other substances.
The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger's children have had to contend with that as well, I'm sure. (also Keith Richards' children, if he has any)
Johnny Cash, Hank Williams . . . many, many children of musicians in every genre.
If the movie 8-Mile is truthful, Eminem probably did also.
We can ask other students to suggest celebrities as well.
from your instructor:
ReplyDeleteJama,
For your second question, you might look at states that make recycling mandatory. Perhaps California, since Californians are particularly conscious of their environment.
A sideline might be what people in this area do with their garbage--landfills, shipping it out to Canada, etc., and what effect these practices have on our environment.
from your instructor:
ReplyDeleteJama,
I thought of another sideline: how we discard waste from medical facilities.
What are the negative consequences/health problems that result from binge drinking?
ReplyDeleteWhat are the pros and cons about growing up in a single family home or a home with two parents?
ReplyDeletesara, i know that Eminem and Ozzy Osbourne's parents struggled through drug adiction.
ReplyDeletemarina, look up the facts on infant and using tap water. I was told that tap water is good for babys gums.
ReplyDeleteThe pros and cons of being a single mother.
ReplyDeleteIs being a single mother a "2nd job"?
Does/should single mothers have more advantages than married couples?
The pros and cons of being a single mother
ReplyDeleteIs being a single mother a "2nd job"?
Does/should single mothers have more advantages than married couples?
Anissa
ReplyDeletethe only thing I can see a single mom would have as an advantage than a married couple would be you make all the decisions with no interferance with aspouse.Having a spouse does sometimes have its advantages too.
Chris, you're right how many times do the big bosses have to violate shop rules before they are reprimanded? Thats where internal auditers should be utilized on an ongoing basis and after what happened in your instance.
ReplyDeleteGerald, This is going to sound goofy but, what is sagging? hee hee.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know the success rate for adoption in Michigan.
ReplyDeletedo any one have or no a child with ADHD?
ReplyDeleteDo you think that Gay marriages should be legal in Michigan?
ReplyDeleteI believe that the system has failed many children in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteSagging(pants worn low enough to see your underwear.)
ReplyDeleteIf you see a man beating a woman should you help that woman?
ReplyDeleteDo you think that our government is a joke in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteWhere did sagging generate from?
ReplyDeleteIs sagging pants a legal issue in every state?
Is it a racial issue?
Danecia and Latasha,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what your research questions are. Danecia, What does "success rate" mean? Latasha: If you see a man beating a woman, should you help that woman? is not a research question. A research question might be: Where have community organizations and agencies joined together to prevent domestic violence from escalating (murder, etc.)? How have these efforts helped the victims, perpetrators and children involved?
Gerald,
ReplyDeleteHow is it going finding information on your questions?
Have you checked the Popular Culture database in Thomson-Gale?
There might be the larger issue of hip-hop culture (which has spread around the globe) here.
Laura Tobias
Ryan i know one effect is being broke the next day. Or making stupid decisons that follow you for the rest of your life. =(
